A Snowy Night

The clock is carved into the large church tower as
Hookers prance about the liquor store next door,
Cigarette butts and condom wrappers litter the
Sidewalk, a light layer of snow covering them up.
As the powder continues falling from the sky,
Lightly, gently, from the light blackness above.
The moon sits in solitude, waiting for the
Company of the stars, as the sun sleeps.
As she sits on the rooftop, dangling her
Feet off the edge, wondering when the city fell,
And opened itself up to the hell below.
